FAQ
What kind of musical genres do you accept?
We accept absolutely all genres and our goal is to have many. To have Rap right next to Folk and Death Metal right next to Country. We even want songs in all languages from all countries.
You say that all submissions will not be judged. Does that mean that all songs submitted will be published?
Our goal is to have all submissions published but we reserve the right to deny songs that we determine could be considered as Hate Speech or inappropriate for our audience.
Why are you charging money to post songs? Isn't that like payola?
We charge a very nominal fee to supplement our income, grow the blog and other projects as well as filter the kind of songs that we might receive if there were no fee. Payola is broadcasting songs on the internet, podcasts or radio for a payment. We are not playing / broadcasting any songs. We are also not reviewing and will never review songs for payment. We are simply displaying song links and information on SongMight for a small fee which is legal. Companies like Tunecore, Distrokid, CD Baby and others routinely distribute songs (mp3's, wav files) across the internet for payment which is legal.
Once you publish a post about a song, how long will it stay up?
All posts will be published for as long as SongMight is around.
If my song is published will it also be on a SongMight playlist?
SongMight playlists will be published and while not all songs are guaranteed to be on a playlist, most will be. The songs on SongMight will also act as a repository for other blogs so it is possible that by being on SongMight your song may be seen and reviewed by other music publications.
Once I send you a song and payment, how soon will I see the post on SongMight?
Our goal is to have your post up within 48 - 72 hours of receiving payment and the needed information / links.
Are all the song displayed on SongMight ones that have been submitted with payment?
No, not all the songs have been sent to us and paid for. Some songs have been curated by SongMight and posted at no cost. This is because we grant ourselves the right to post songs that may not fit the aesthetic or interfere with scheduling issues on or at American Pancake and post them on SongMight.
