Castle Club began as the home recording project of Austin, TX musician Patrick Keller, formerly of the progressive electronic act Red Comet 3, in 2017. Castle Club's self-titled debut album was released in September 2019 on Austin tape label Ghostspace Records. The album takes the most forward-looking elements of grunge and throws it in a blender with Ty Segall, 'Quarters!' era King Gizzard and Mac Demarco. Through this melding of styles and influences, Castle Club seeks to create a new kind of lo-fi psychedelia, as much indebted to the jazz harmony and indie-rock aesthetic of Captured Tracks as it is to the DIY punk ethos of Castleface Records and In the Red.
Since 2017, Castle Club has shifted from being purely a bedroom project to being a live band, the roster is filled out with Austin musicians Dylan Williams(Bass) and Jackson Webster(Drums). Castle Club's next release, the mostly acoustic EP 'Unbecoming' is slated for release in December 2019, and from there the band already has the next full length 'II' locked and loaded for a Spring 2020 release. You can stream Castle Club's self-titled debut on the Ghostspace Records bandcamp page, and all purchases of the album come with two bonus tracks not available elsewhere.
