Tar & Flowers is the musical labor of talented songwriter and record artist Taylor Hungerford. Taylor was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. At a young age, his parents, moved to Chatsworth, as small equestrian town on the border of LA County. Chatsworth’s rich western history would affect Taylor in ways he was unaware of. Trips down to the local honky-tonk The Cowboy Palace Saloon would introduce him to country music and cowboy culture. Coupled with trips out to his cousins’ ranch in Colorado to brand and farm, Taylor’s love of the west and western myth would continue to grow. In 2018, this culminated in the release of Tar & Flowers’ first album Indian Summer, which was released to critical acclaim and modest reception. His follow up, Western Symphony, leans harder into his influences, ranging from country, to bluegrass, delta blues to psychedelia and cosmic country.

Tar & Flowers can be found throughout Los Angeles in honky-tonks as well as traditional venues and can be heard wherever the call of the west is found.
