Press Notes
Since forming in Phoenix, Arizona in 2017, The Deadbeat Cousins have been making a name for themselves with their punchy blues rock riffs and energetic live performances. After years of playing music with various projects, spanning multiple genres, the old friends decided to get together and get back to basics: blues and rock n roll. Infusing elements of blues, rock, and alternative, The Deadbeat Cousins have been able to create a sound of their own that is both new and fresh, yet familiar and nostalgic. After being selected for the Spotify editorial All New Rock playlist, their single, Slow Down, secured over thirty thousand streams in less than a month, with subsequent radio play both domestic and abroad. Matt Simon at Ear to the Ground Music describes the single, Slow Down “as catchy as anything The Black Keys have produced recently, while waving a punk tinged flag that acts like Highly Suspect have made a living on”. They have shared the stage with national acts including Dirty Honey and Blac Rabbit, and will be joining KONGOS at the Apache Lake Music Festival in Arizona this fall. Their debut album, Get By, hit all major streaming platforms on July 26, 2019 with physical copies available to be purchased at their live shows. The trio plans to support their new album with shows to round out the rest of 2019 and are currently making tour plans for 2020. While the world is beginning to get a taste of their debut album, plans for their sophomore album are already in the works. Be sure to check out The Deadbeat Cousins on all streaming and social platforms, because ready or not, here they come.
